CIVIL APATHY

READ THIS ESSAY READ THIS ESSAY

hush little baby don't say a word
the war will be over when the others learn
the fault is their's, and they took our jobs
don't blame your country that you've been robbed
you don't own a home, but another owns five
just be thankful that you're still alive
you have food to eat, and your rent is made
but that's not important if your tax aint paid

apathy is the mind of the state
incurred in times when things were great
it seemed there were no worries in the world
our parents got rich as the planet twirled
watch as the waste of their gain is unfurled
and over a mountain your pension is hurled
they taught us to be quiet and our vision is mired
we continue down their path; sheep uninspired
but this round the wealth is for another empire
with thugs for hire of our own attire
who desire nothing more than to fly a little higher
agents of the selfish motto of our times
lending themselves to stop alleged crimes
that might open eyes to the path of the just
who live their lives not conceding to lust
